HISTORY
 In the year of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, year 2008, women sought and approached the servant and vessel of God, Wendy Mitchell to aid them in discovering, identifying, reaching entering and fulfilling their God-given destiny. While others asked her assistance in discovering their God-given destiny, other women approached Wendy to ask her assistance helping them discover their life-long careers and dreams. Such requests did not stop with the requests destiny and career, but other women further approached her for assistance in helping improve specific areas of their lives. Such requests became extremely heavy in her spirit that it moved her to consult God.

After much prayer and communing with God, God placed within Wendy Mitchell a vision of mentoring women that would aid them in discovering and fulfilling their God-given destiny, life-long dreams and careers and a vision to help improve women's spiritual, emotional, physical and social life to include family relationships.

Upon receiving the vision for a Women's Mentoring Ministry, God then empowered Wendy Mitchell to accomplish the vision. He led her to contact all of the women who asked her to mentor them in a specific area of their lives. To Wendy that was not NORMAL! However, after sharing the vision with her husband, Barry, they both discovered that this was no ordinary vision for ordinary women. She took notice that the women who were requesting her mentorship were not average, they were special. They were seekers, displayed mission-oriented characteristics, hidden trail blazers, women who were in the transition of life, desiring more out of life! They were longing to be fulfilled! They wanted to make their special mark in the world with God's purpose permeating and operating through their lives!

Upon sharing such a discovery with her husband (one who always has a way with words and is indeed a dynamic man of God-filled man with vision), God immediately dropped in his spirit the name for a ministry that would meet the needs of these hidden trail blazers, mission-oriented women, dreamers. It was the name NOT AVERAGE! God then clarified to Wendy that Not Average would be a mentoring ministry for such women. Thus putting the name of the ministry and the clarification of the nature and purpose of the ministry all together, NOT AVERAGE MENTORING MINISTRY (NAMM) was born! To God Be The Glory!

For the next 5 years, under the name NAMM, women discovered, reached and began to walk in their God-given destiny with passion and fervor.  

In the year 2011, God promoted Wendy Mitchell to MIDWIFE! She would no longer simply be a mentor or life coach, one which aids and guides women in discovering their God-given destiny, but she would now become one who would help discover and BIRTH their destiny! Thus she became Midwife Wendy. With the promotion to midwife came the recurring thought and unction from God to expand NAMM. The expansion would lead Wendy into establishing a women's ministry that would not only encompass the trailblazers, mission-oriented women, giants in the Gospel and or ministry, women who were chosen to fulfill a special God-given assignment on their life, but it would include women of all ages whose destiny was not of the aforementioned, but women who are simply driven to discover their purpose for being created and desiring to fulfill it.  

The urging of establishing such a ministry was so supernaturally strong in her spirit, that Wendy discussed the establishment of this new women's ministry with her sister Dr. Deanna Burney. She impressed upon Dr. Burney to join in prayer with her to seek God for a name for the ministry because her labor pains of the ministry within was getting stronger and she'd be delivering soon. Two hours later, Dr. Burney came back with the name Destiny Point. The doctor simply Wendy deliver her baby and called it what it is today: DESTINY POINT MINISTRIES!  

In December 2012, NAMM evolved into Destiny Point Ministries and on March 2, 2013, Destiny Pont Ministries was born! It held its first meeting on this day at the PWAR Building, 4545 Daisy Reid Road, Woodbridge, Virginia.
